November 20 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
This is a competitive driving event in which drivers and navigators are provided a set of instructions with semi-clever clues and questionable questions that transpire over an idyllic set course of beautiful country roads. Winners are determined based on three factors: (1) Time – coming as close as possible to the optimal, perfect time (as determined by the Rallye-Master); (2) Distance – coming as close as possible to the actual course mileage (again, as determined by your Rallye-Master); and (3) Answers to Questions – this involves answering a series of questions developed by your Rallye-Master about things you should be able to spot along the route. It’s easy, it’s fun for the whole family (or as many as you can safely cram into your MG), and there will be prizes! The course is less than 40 miles and won’t take more than an hour to run.
After the rallye, we’ll gather in the parking lot of Katie’s Coffee House which is connected to The Old Brogue Pub in the village center of Great Falls, VA for a socially distanced, brief awards ceremony. While lunch this year will have to be on your own, both restaurants fortunately offer superb Irish food and drink!
Questions? Call John Puglisi at (703) 447-7730. PLEASE let John know that you plan to attend by calling or emailing to email@example.com
For the Turkey Rallye: Meet in the parking lot of the Presbyterian Church in the center of downtown Vienna, VA. This is right in the center of town very close to where the W&OD bicycle trail intersects Rt. 123 (same as Maple Street). The church is in the 200 block of Maple Street east. If coming from the Beltway, take the exit for Rt. 123 South and then in Vienna turn right (off Rt. 123) at Park Street and make an immediate left into parking lot. If coming from the west on Rt. 123, take a left onto Park Street and left again into parking lot.
IMPORTANT: Please be there by 10:00 AM sharp as we will start to release cars onto the rallye route. It is highly recommended that drivers are accompanied by their own navigators who would be comfortable sitting with them in an LBC for some period of time.
