We’re headed back to wild and wonderful West Virginia. Tom showed us such a great Time for last year’s “Drive to Lunch” he’s been asked to do it again, but this time as our Winter Romp. We will be returning to Shepherdstown, WV for some great roads and a good time.
The Winter Romp this year will leave from the same place (Potomac library) but will end up in Shepherdstown WV where we will have lunch at Lilah’s restaurant.
Along the way we will make three stops. First, a photo op in Poolesville, arranged for by the Mayor of Poolesville himself. (He’s in my Norton motorbike club). Next, a stop at the Rocky Point Creamery in Point of Rocks (assuming I can negotiate an early opening, like Ted did last year.) Lastly, after we pass through Brunswick and Burkettsville, another photo op, this time up at the entrance to Gathland State Park, as we pass over the top of the Catoctin Mountains (and the Appalachian Trail) on our way west to Sharpsburg and then Shepherdstown.
Weather permitting, it promises to be a fun outing. Shine up your cars, grab your Lactaid, and let’s hit the road!
