◆ On the road with the club
A roadster was built to be driven — so a few times a year we point the bonnets toward the back roads and go touring together. Top down, in no particular hurry, the long way round.
Some of the best days in an MG happen between the destinations. Our group drives string together the region's prettiest, twistiest, most fun-to-drive roads — the kind you take for the joy of the driving, not because they're the fastest way anywhere.
We're spoiled for scenery out here. Within an easy morning's reach lie Virginia's hunt country and Skyline Drive, the rolling Blue Ridge, Maryland's river valleys and Eastern Shore, and the back roads of West Virginia. We wander them in a loose, friendly convoy — chrome and ragtops strung out along a ridgeline — and pull over somewhere worth stopping for lunch, a view, or a photo.
Everyone's welcome, and so is every car. New to the club? Get to know who we are and how we got started. You don't need an MG, a fast car, or a perfectly sorted one — just a full tank and a sense of humor. We keep the pace relaxed, share the route ahead of time, and nobody gets left behind.
We add drives to the calendar through the year as routes come together — here's the current slate. Check back as the season fills in, or watch the club calendar for the latest.
Two-day touring getaway · destination TBD
Our annual autumn road trip: two days of open-road touring to a destination still under wraps, with the scenic route out, good company over dinner, and the long way home. Dates and final route to be announced — pack a bag.
Countryside run ending at lunch · route TBD
A relaxed pre-Thanksgiving run through the countryside that winds up at a welcoming lunch spot — where we settle in, eat well, and elect the club's officers for 2027. Equal parts scenic drive and good excuse to gather.
Got a favorite road, or a loop you'd love the club to run? We're always looking for new routes — and members are welcome to suggest or lead a drive. Drop us a line on the Contact page or find us at the next event on the club calendar.
A look back at recent runs — most recent first. The club calendar prunes events once they've passed, so this is our own rolling record of where the wheels have taken us.
Clifton → Bealeton, VA · scenic backroads
A Sunday run out through the scenic backroads from Clifton to the Bealeton Flying Circus — vintage biplanes and barnstorming aerobatics to match a field full of classic MGs.
Staunton, VA · two-day touring weekend
Our spring weekend away — great secondary roads out to Staunton, Virginia, an overnight to really explore rather than just pass through, and the long scenic way home.
The drives are open to members and friends alike, and they sit alongside our signature club events through the year. Find the next one on the calendar, top down optional but encouraged.
